Irene Tinker Lecture 2008
Co-sponsored by the American University International Development Program and the International Centre for Research on Women, the annual lecture series was launched in 2002 by Dr. Tinker, a pioneer in studies of gender and development. In 2008 I gave the lecture on the topic of Women’s Human Rights and Economic Policy.

This brings globally distinguished scholars who are renowned for the impact that their intellectual and applied work has had on international development studies to Trent University, Canada. In 2009 I gave the lecture on the topic of Gender and the Global Economic Crisis.

Leontief Prize Lecture 2016
The Leontief Prize, in memory of Wassily Leontief, is designed to recognize outstanding contributions to economic theory that address contemporary realities and support just and sustainable societies. Diane Elson was a recipient in 2016 and gave a public lecture on looking at development through a gender lens.

I was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UK based Open University and made a short response.
